Preparation
- In a Dutch oven, cook the Italian sausage and red pepper flakes for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the sausage is crumbled, browned, and no longer pink. Drain then set apart.
- In the same Dutch oven, cook the bacon for about 10 minutes, or until crisp. After draining, place the bacon and a few tablespoons of drippings in the Dutch oven's bottom. Add the onions and garlic and stir. Cook for 5 minutes, or until onions are tender and transparent.
- The bacon, onion mixture, and chicken stock should be combined in a Dutch oven. Bring to a boil over high heat. Boil the potatoes for 20 minutes or until they are tender to the fork. Stir in the heavy cream and the heavy cream, then lower the heat to medium.
