My kids love Air Fryer Tofu a lot, so we always have fried tofu whenever we get takeout. So we attempted to create fried tofu at home using our air fryer, and it was a tremendous success and quite simple. Because the kids don't enjoy a lot of spice, I spiced it very mildly. However, feel free to add more and experiment with different spices.
Easy Air Fryer Tofu
Ingredients
- · 1 package (18 ounces) of extra-firm tofu
- · Two teaspoons of cornstarch and one tablespoon of soy
- · 1/2 tsp. of onion powder
- · 12 teaspoons paprika sweet
- · 1/4 teaspoon of white pepper, ground
- · 1/2 tsp. sesame oil

Preparation/Direction
STEP 1
- 1. Slice the tofu block vertically, then arrange the halves side by side on a plate covered with several layers of paper towels. Add a thick layer of paper towels on top, weigh down with a heavy object (I used my bread box) and press for 30 minutes to remove as much liquid as possible.
STEP 2
- 2. Tofu should be diced into 1-inch pieces and put in a bowl. Add soy sauce, then toss to coat carefully.
STEP 3
- 3. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch, onion powder, paprika, and white pepper. Add the cornstarch mixture to the tofu and coat it delicately. Add a drizzle of sesame oil. In the basket of the air fryer, arrange the tofu pieces in a single layer. Work may need to be done in batches.
STEP 4
- 4. 6 minutes of air-frying at 390 degrees F (200 degrees C). For about 6 more minutes, flip the tofu slices over and air fried until crispy.
